Fooi-Ling Khoo
Director
Fooi is a registered architect and the director of OOF.
Before starting her own practice, Fooi worked in award winning architectural practices in Brisbane and Melbourne as well as a short stint in Germany. She has worked on a wild variety of projects ranging from souvlaki shops and bathroom renos to nightclubs, apartment towers, freeway infrastructure and just about anything in between.
Since starting OOF in 2005, she has devoted herself to her one true love: one-off residential projects that are as unique as their owners.
She loves the charms + challenges of inner city projects and copes with - maybe even enjoys - demanding heritage contexts, weird sites + eccentric clients. She considers it a privilege to be able to work with clients on their most personal and important project - their home.
Outside the office, Fooi is an enthusiastic supporter of ArchiTeam, an architects' co-operative representing over 900 architects in Australia, and is a former director and chair of its board.
She enjoys teaching when she can, and has taught design studios at undergrad and postgrad levels at RMIT and the University of Melbourne.
Fooi is also an archi film nerd and co-founded DADo, the film society of the Robin Boyd Foundation.
She loves to travel, takes way too many photos and maintains a strict regime of groundless optimism by supporting the St Kilda Football Club.
